Staycay vs Vaycay

Create magical daycations across Cambridgeshire this summer with Mollie in Cambridge.

Now is the time to take advantage of adventure, right on our doorstep! Cambridge has so many wonderful places to have the perfect daycation for all ages. Here’s a few to add to your summer bucket list!

Fen Drayton Lakes

A great spot for our nature lovers. Fancy a nice long dog walk? Fen Drayton has around 8 miles of wonderful trails accompanied by beautiful lakes, just filled with nature of all kinds. Pack some good walking boots for your trip!

Punting Along the River Cam

A right of passage for anyone visiting or already living in the city. Punting along the river is the BEST activity to see the iconic backs of Cambridge. Be charmed by the student tour guides as you glide along the river.

An Iconic Brunch with Fitzbillies

You haven’t LIVED until you’ve tried the world famous Chelsea buns from our iconic 100 year old Fitzbillies cafe. We recommend that you book brunch in advance or grab a take-away and prop yourself along the river to watch the punts go by.

Wandlebury Country Park

Walking around Wandlebury is like walking through a story book. This place is perfect for a Sunday stroll, just before that well earned Sunday Roast! Take the path to ‘Ely Point’ to see the Cathedral Spire standing across the landscape.

Burwash Manor

I truly feel Burwash is a hidden gem across Cambridgeshire. Explore this beautiful array of independent little shops filled with local gems, that you’ll only find in Cambs. From a wonderful grocers featuring the county’s finest food to the sweetest flower shop across the county.

A Wander Across Ely

Spread your wings a little further and escape to the tiny charming town of Ely. Start your visit taking in the cathedral and all its glory and slowly wander down to the river banks, watching the boats go by and sip a gorgeous cocktail at the Riverside Bar and Kitchen.

Fitzwilliam Museum

Fancy a little bit of history? Look no further than the impressive Fitzwilliam Museum. With collections varying from treasures from the ancient world to powerful paintings from the greats – even including a Monet.

The River Terrace Cafe

Set in the beautiful town of St. Ives, the River Terrace Cafe is one of my favourite places to just simply soak in the moment. Book a table on the terrace, order the most exquisite brunch or lunch and watch the boats go by. Be sure to wave at passersby on the river too!
