

The world's greatest film extravaganza, the Cannes Film Festival, kicks off along the French Riviera today (14th May).
Hollywood A-listers, directors ranging from Spielberg to arthouse mingle with the world’s media and fans for 12 days of partying.
The 61st festival which is showcasing South American cinema begins with the Brazilian entry Blindness, a film featured on the official poster. Alongside the official selection are hundreds of less known and obscure films being screened to the industry. The festival ends on May 25, when the coveted Palme d'Or for best film is awarded.
